‘THREE” – December 15-18, 2004 at the Peninsula Theatre in Woy Woy
‘Three’ is about the creation of the world and the life of Jesus seen through the eyes of the Trinity; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It is a story about love and redemption.
The cast of Quench Theatre’s 2004 production of ‘Three’ took on a variety of performance styles, including symbolism and transformational acting to convey themes of forgiveness and unconditional love and present familiar biblical stories in an eclectic and visually evocative way.

‘A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM’ – Feb 14-23, 2008 Avoca Beach Picture Theatre
A Midsummer Night’s Dream is often coined Shakespeare’s greatest comedy. Quench Theatre’s version, although maintaining the richness of the language, is set in the cheesy 80’s and take’s a few liberties with the script. For example Egeus, Hermia’s father is now Egea, Hermia’s mother and we have introduced a new viola playing fairy, Dandelion and Peter Quince is now Mrs Quince the ‘drama teacher’. Our production of this classic incorporates physical theatre, music, dance and song thus enhancing the melodramatic aspects of the play. Quench Theatre prides itself on the on promoting excellence in theatre and this production epitomizes that, with its stellar cast made up of experienced actors from the Central Coast and Newcastle and its innovative direction, Quench Theatre’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream is anticipating full houses, so make sure you book your tickets soon. The audience is invited to come dressed in 80’s gear to add to the fun! All proceeds from the performances will go towards New Hope International. www.newhopeinternational.net This charity organization provides quality training and resources for disadvantaged teachers in developing countries.

Theseus is preparing to marry Hippolya. Their pre-nuptial joy is interrupted by Egea who is irate because her daughter Hermia refuses to marry Demetrius. She claims she is in love with Lysander who in turn loves her. Theseus gives her three choices, marry Demetrius, become a nun or death. Hermia and Lysander escape to the forest. A group of dramatists, headed up by Mrs Quince – drama teacher extraordinaire, are rehearsing a play for the wedding of Theseus and Hippolyta also head to the forest to rehearse. Helena, who is Hermia’s best friend and in love with Demetrius tells him of the lovers’ flight and he follows them, she in turn follows him. The forest is also home to the fairies, but all is not well in their kingdom because Oberon (king of the Fairies) and his queen Titania are fighting over a little Indian boy. Oberon places a spell on Titania while she is asleep. Puck, Oberon’s mischievous attendant irresponsibly uses the same spell on the lovers causing the wrong people to fall in love with each other. To add to the confusion Titania awakes and ‘straight away loves an ass’ and the mayhem continues. But ‘all’s well that ends well’ as dawn arrives and the madness of Midsummer Night evaporates into new day, a wedding (or three) and a play within a play.
