Presenting...

Quench Theatre is currently offering Theatresports® Classes for anyone 16yrs + !!!

What is Theatresports®?

Theatresports® is improvised theatre played as a spectator sport. Teams of actors are given suggestions from which they are to create scenes on the spot in front of a live audience. The players know the requirements of each game but how the scene develops and it’s outcome evolves spontaneously.

In 2009 Quench Theatre will be offering the Theatresports® Introductory Course and the Intermediate Course. At the completion of the Intermediate Course graduates will partake in a performance evening, receive a certificate and be eligible to join Impro Australia.

Come along, fine tune your performance skills and have fun!

Introductory Course:

This course introduces the fundamentals of improvisation – spontaneity, trust and story telling. The foundational skills of making and accepting offers, endowment and advancing and extending the narrative will be explored. Come along, increase your confidence, express yourself and have a lot of fun in the process. No previous experience is necessary.

Intermediate Course:

Put the skills and techniques developed in the Introductory Course into action as the Theatresports® games are further explored. Form teams, play to time limits and receive side coaching to further develop and enhance your improvisational skills. At the completion of the course players are invited to perform in a graduation and join IMPRO Australia. Participants in the Intermediate Course must have successfully completed the Introductory Course.
